How it Works

Whole Room Heat Circulation

The Vornado Heater’s Signature Vortex Action disperses the heat generated throughout the room in a spiraling beam of warm air and also circulates all of the air in the room which evens out warm and cool areas. This allows you to take advantage of heat already in the room. Vortex action can warm an entire room in minutes.

Temperature Controls:
Thermostat vs. Thermistor

Thermostat

The bi-metal thermostatic control, which is featured on the Vornado VH2 model heater, will cycle the unit on and off as it reaches the point of heat selected on the dial on top of the unit. The VH2 has a “plus-to-minus” temperature control dial; it is not calibrated but rather approximated.

Thermistor

The thermistor on the DVTH model heater maintains a constant room temperature and eliminates annoying hot and cold cycles. A thermistor is a sophisticated sensor that allows the heater to self-adjust the heat output to maintain the desired temperature. You select the temperature using the calibrated temperature control on the top of the unit.

Integrated Safety Features

The DVTH and VH2 heater models have integrated safety features. These safety features include a non-glowing heating element and a cool-touch cabinet and grill. In addition, both heaters feature multilevel over-heat protection, which automatically shuts off the heat if the airflow is blocked, plus a backup fuse for an added layer of protection. The VH2 heater also has an instant Tip-Over switch that cuts the power if the unit is tilted or knocked over.
