ASSEMBLER

Summary of Position:

Responsible for the assembly of parts for various Vornado products. Ensures that assigned assembly functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures, that quality standards are met or exceeded, and that related documentation is accurate and complete.  Operates hand tools as required.

PRODUCT SAFETY COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

Summary of Position:

Responsible for coordinating all activities required to secure new and maintain existing domestic and international safety, performance, and regulatory agency certifications.  Working cross-functionally and closely with compliance project team, this position will be responsible for the daily certification project activities including applications, schedule management, record keeping, report management, and billing. This position will ensure strict adherence to all applicable internal and regulatory agency programs, policies, and procedures.

 

Job Duties:

 

Responsible for certification project management

  • Coordinates and manages the day to day third party certification and regulatory activities for all Vornado managed applications. Supports factory and lab partners in their process of securing global product safety certifications and regulatory approvals, as needed.
  • Initiates projects with third party testing labs and applicable domestic and international regulatory agencies and other government agencies to secure appropriate global approvals (i.e. ETL, CE, CCC, CADR, CARB, FCC).
  • Prepares documents for the submittal of certification project applications. Reviews, updates, and ensures accuracy and correctness of all required agency documentation. Follows up with internal staff and factory partners, as needed.
  • Tracks and communicates certification project status and test results to Vornado project teams in a timely manner. Sources of information will include internal team, third party agencies, lab partners, and factory partners.
  • Responsible for certification project schedule from application through final report receipt and record keeping. Participates in milestone reviews and project meetings for purpose of understanding product/project details that may impact schedule or scope of project and providing any updates to project teams.
  • As part of ongoing certification maintenance, actively advises Vornado project teams of any regulatory/compliance updates or new requirements in a timely manner. Works with compliance team to execute plan of action to comply with any updates, including schedule and associated costs review.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all domestic and international regulatory, product safety, and performance standards applicable to Vornado products.

 

Responsible for the accurate maintenance of certification database and report records.

  • Actively organizes and maintains the database of all global certifications and associated records.
  • Responsible for the certification and regulatory documentation organization, retention, and tracking.
  • Responsible for providing certification reports to factory partners, distributors, and internal stakeholders, as needed.
  • Maintains excellent project, file, and report organization for purposes of status reporting, product/project decision history, and audit requirements.
  • Maintains the schedule of annual factory audits, product testing, and unlisted component testing at Vornado and partner facilities. Initiates certification projects in timely manner to maintain all certifications and registrations.

 

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of certification project requisitions, purchase orders (PO’s), invoice approvals, and customer invoicing.

  • Acquires project quotes, requests and approves purchase orders, and tracks expenses for all certification activities. Assists in budget planning for certification work.
  • Reviews certification quotes with management to confirm cost, scope, and lead time and gain approvals for PO issuance and project start.
  • Upon approval of project quote, creates requisitions in ERP system for all certification projects.
  • Issues purchase orders in the ERP system for all certification projects from requisitions.
  • Tracks orders, confirms leadtimes and completion dates with the vendor or factory, revises purchase orders and requisitions in a timely manner and notifies project teams and management of any potential delays.
  • Upon cert project completion, receives invoices and scans invoices to Finance for payment and attaches a copy to the PO in the ERP system. Updates ERP system to reflect status of product.
  • Tracks and manages factory and customer invoicing for cost reimbursements.
  • Provides financial reports and documentation as required.

 

Responsible for related duties as required or assigned.

  • Coordinates with internal departments to assist in external third-party audits of Vornado manufacturing facilities, as assigned.
  • Authors process and procedure documentation to support certification programs, as required.
  • Establishes and maintains effective professional business relationships with suppliers, factories and coworkers. Effectively communicates and coordinates compliance activities with company personnel, external clients, customers, contractors, and officials. Develops strong working relationships to effectively achieve these objectives.
  • Resolves requests, questions and issues promptly.
  • Follows all safety protocols at Vornado and our partner facilities.
  • Conducts oneself with unquestionable integrity and maintains company sensitive information in strict confidence.

 

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of product safety and certification, logistics or planning, project management, finance or accounting experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or consumer products environment required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Work Zone or other project management software is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP system, billing, and invoicing. Understanding of the flow of information through an ERP system. Knowledge of the requirements for issuing domestic and internal purchase orders.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of how other functions and stakeholders impact the business and projects.
  • Strong experience in record stewardship for internal and external audit purposes.
  • Ideal candidate will possess regulatory and compliance experience in consumer product or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing the certification process of consumer products, including experience with IEC, UL/ETL, CE, CCC, BSMI, etc, is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international regulatory and compliance schemes: UL, CSA, FCC, CB Scheme, CE Directives (LVD, EMC, RoHS, REACH, CA65, Energy Efficiency, etc), and others, is desirable.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent Vornado to internal and external customers, factory partners, suppliers, and third-party approval agencies on a professional level.
  • Excellent project management, time management, analytical, problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and data analysis skills.
  • Proven and strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage multiple concurrent project timelines.
  • Ability to identify problems, suggest viable solutions and make decision within the scope of responsibility.
  • Must possess strong documentation skills for project tracking, product and project history, and compliance requirements.

SHIPPING COORDINATOR

Summary of Position:

Responsible for ensuring that products are shipped to customers in accordance with sales order requests and Company policies and procedures.  Prioritizes shipping picklists, coordinates boxing, packaging, and mailing functions, and oversees inventory management.  Handles a wide variety of paperwork and recordkeeping including work orders, purchase orders, material requisitions, and inventory logs.

 

Job Duties:

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective and timely completion of all shipping functions.

 

  • Ensures that product is boxed in accordance with Company packaging procedures.
  • Prioritizes shipping picklist and checks for inventory availability.
  • Ensures appropriate handling of outgoing product.
  • Shops for best shipping rates and schedules.
  • Processes returns.
  • Tracks inventory.
  • Identifies, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems, or delays.

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring that shipping functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

  • Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
  • Ensures that forklift is operated and maintained according to safety requirements.
