ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER

Summary of Position:

Responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of a specified product line.  As part of a cross-functional team, the Assistant Product Manager (APM) will interface with sourcing, engineering, design, marketing, sales, finance and operations as needed to help successfully deliver new products to market and maintain current product assortment.

 

Job Duties:

 

Assists in overall management of assigned product category.

 

  • Coordinates brand activities related to launch and maintenance of the product line (packaging die lines, artwork, copy writing, collateral materials, website maintenance, sales bulletins, photography samples, etc.)
  • Assists in launch of seasonal sales kits and adjusts presentations, price lists, line rationale, etc., as needed throughout the year.

ENGINEERING LAB TECHNICIAN

Summary of Position:

Conducts on-going product testing activities to ensure conformance with applicable performance specifications and safety related codes, standards and regulations. Completes engineering test requests and collecting and recording data as related to tests. Participates in the detail design and testing of portable consumer appliances.

 

Job Duties:

 

Aids in the development of test procedures and conducts laboratory testing in support of new and existing product development and maintenance.

 

  • Tests finished products and component parts to assure compliance with UL standards or other applicable specifications.
  • Performs life cycle testing to validate product performance results to those claimed under the applicable product warranty.
  • Troubleshoots products returned as defective to determine problem source and potential solutions.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER

Summary of Position:

 

Conceptualize, develop and create new product embodiments in consumer spaces for Vornado and other aligned products and brands. Responsible for understanding and synthesizing the desired features, benefits, form, and function of new product designs. Produce new models/concepts and refine existing models/concepts using a variety of techniques. Participate in the generation and development of part designs, research materials, construction techniques, and new product knowledge to enhance departmental design and development capabilities. Stay abreast of Industrial Design industry trends and new applicable technologies. Participate in the color selection for product and on-product graphics and assist with layout and design packaging and marketing materials as needed.

 

Job Duties:

 

Creates robust appliance design concepts, detailed models and supporting assets for custom designed build projects.

 

  • Use mechanical design software to create complete mechanical design concepts for robust and low-risk appliance designs that will complete the project scope within the budget and schedule parameters defined by product development team.
  • Work with design stakeholders to develop consumer-friendly product controls and user interfaces, aligned with practical mechanical and electronic constructs.
  • Identify areas of risk and work quickly to prototype and mitigate risk / maximize opportunity.

OFFICE MANAGER

Summary of Position:

Distributes inbound mail to appropriate staff and delivers outbound mail to the nearest postal drop box daily.  Ensures postage equipment is maintained, that sufficient postage is available.  Serves as a resource for staff needing assistance with use of the postage equipment or sending overnight mail.
  • Responsible for unlocking and locking the office daily.
  • Serves as primary point of contact between the company and its maintenance/service providers (Cleaning Service, HVAC, Lawn care, etc. ) with responsibility for monitoring performance quality.
  • Serves as point of contact for building maintenance requests, light bulbs, restrooms, etc.
  • Coordinates the pickup, delivery, organization, and administration of business records stored off site.

SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATOR

Summary of Position:

Responsible for processing purchase orders and supply requisitions. Communicates with suppliers and freight forwarders, solves inventory issues.  Responsible for maintaining and updating our forwarders order management system.  Monitors the status of shipments and proactively communicates any concerns to management.  Completes reports and documentation in an accurate, timely manner.

 

Job Duties:

 

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders (PO’s) and supply requisitions.

  • Issues purchase orders in the ERP system for all non-inventory items such as supplies, pallets, lab equipment and product testing.
  • Issues purchase orders in ERP system for all Finished Goods (Domestic Imports), tracks orders, confirms lead times and ship dates with the supplier, revises purchase orders in a timely manner and notifies management of any potential delays.
  • Organizes and manages spare parts orders and carton requirements for buybacks/rework.
  • Issues purchase orders in ERP system for PDP6 samples and Tooling for all finished goods (domestic imports).
  • Updates all inventory tracking systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with suppliers, factories, freight forwarders and coworkers in a professional manner.
  • Resolves requests, questions and issues promptly.
  • Provides reports and documentation as required.

 

Responsible for accurate and timely processing of documentation and invoices,  system updates, communications and record keeping.

  • Maintains the active spare parts list for finished goods in the ERP system.
  • Maintains the current lead times for each factory and supplier.
  • Matches packing slips to invoices, processes receipts for non-inventory items in the ERP system and provides a copy to Finance for payment.
  • Scans inventory invoices to Finance for payment and attaches a copy to the PO in the ERP system.
  • Sorts and distributes ocean documents to Finance for payment and maintains original copies for the import record.
  • Scans direct shipment invoices, attaches to the PO and records the production serial numbers in the ERP system.

 

Responsible for managing our freight forwarders OM booking system.

  • Uploads EDI file for each PO to the forwarders OM system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Uploads all PO revisions to the forwarders OM system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Must be able to trouble shoot and correct upload errors in a timely manner.

 

Responsible for managing spare sparts.

  • Monitors the minimum and maximum inventory of spare parts for Consumer Service. Processes purchase orders as required.
  • Works with Product Marketing and QA to identify the appropriate packing and assembly requirements for each spare part and effectively communicates the requirement to the supplier.
  • Notifies the factory of spare parts demand, provides drawings and photos as needed and follows up to ensure our requirements are met.
  • Reviews factory self-inspection reports for spare parts, verifies accuracy, communicates approvals and/or non-conformance issues to the supplier.
  • Works with QA and the supplier to solve inventory or non-compliance issues.
  • Keeps management informed of any delays or shortages.
