CONSUMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Summary of Position:

 

Responsible for providing excellent consumer service and maintaining strong professional relationships.  Assists consumers with new orders, advises of status of orders in process, furnishes information on new products, and sends product literature.  Processes returns.  Courteously and promptly resolves consumer questions and problems or properly refers them to appropriate personnel.  Completes related records, reports, and documentation.  Performs miscellaneous clerical duties as required.

 

Job Duties:

 

Assumes responsibility for the accurate entry of consumer orders.

 

  • Receives orders by phone, fax, mail, email, website and consumer walk-ins.
  • Processes orders, enters into computer and, sends to Shipping Department.
  • Acknowledges faxed and mailed orders.
  • Verifies pricing, discounts, billing and shipping addresses, credit status, and informs consumers of any problems.
  • Notifies consumers of product backorders and anticipated availability.
  • Maintains files and updates addresses.
  • Researches and resolves problems with orders.
  • Contacts UPS to resolve shipping issues.

 

Assumes responsibility for effectively performing miscellaneous consumer service functions.

 

  • Sets up and processes new consumers. Sends literature and/or price lists.
  • Processes consumer returns. Determines nature and reason for return and assesses whether product is returnable.
  • Corrects and reships incorrect orders.
  • Processes related consumer paperwork and credits.
  • Sends returned product to Warranty or Rework department for check.
  • Informs consumers of credit holds.
  • Conducts consumer surveys.

 

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations with consumers.

 

  • Resolves questions, requests, and problems promptly and courteously.
  • Keeps consumers informed of Company policies, procedures, and status of their orders and accounts.
  • Politely obtains and conveys information as needed.

Requirements:

MODEL MAKER

Summary of Position:

 

The Model Makers of the Model Shop are tasked with the creation of photorealistic samples and engineering prototypes representing the newest innovations of the company for use in Sales presentations, Marketing materials and New Product Development prototypes. They are further tasked with the maintenance of the suite of 3D printers maximizing efficiency in the production of component parts.

 

To be effective Model Makers will need to learn, understand and employ several modelling and assembly techniques including: sanding, painting, chroming, soldering and molding. While most of the work will be hands on, Model Makers must be able to function in a team environment and communicate effectively across several functions such as Engineering, R&D, Marketing and Product Management. At times, the Model Shop will resemble a small manufacturing operation as several identical models will need to be made to support Sales efforts.

 

Job Duties:

 

Model Making and Model Shop

 

  • Develop prototype sample products made for use as sales samples that are of photographic quality and can be utilized in product literature and press releases.
  • Support the development of conceptual models and prototype sample products for use by product development team in testing, analysis and proof concept.
  • Complete product samples by painting and or modifying 3D printed assets or premanufactured components.
  • Provide feedback to product developers with comments or ideas that will help ensure that the product design or prototype construction meets the highest quality standards.
  • Become educated on and assumes responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the suite of 3D printers and other tools necessary for sample completion.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and techniques used in the completion of new products samples.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.

 

Communication

 

  • Strong communication is essential for a strong team environment.

 

 

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, prototype development and/or paint shop where teamwork is a priority. Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Relevant experience is a “maker space” will be considered.
  • Well organized with experience in managing multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team structure.
  • Ability to work independently on a given task with limited oversight or supervision.
  • Attention to detail and a quality orientation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of power equipment such as a drill press, disc sander, band saw, lathe, etc.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
  • Basic PC computing skills, including MS Office.
  • Experience with Solidworks a big plus.
  • Sedentary and manual labor work. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force frequently and may exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb 19 stairs frequently.

SHIPPING COORDINATOR

Summary of Position:

 

Responsible for ensuring that products are shipped to customers in accordance with sales order requests and Company policies and procedures.  Prioritizes shipping picklists, coordinates boxing, packaging, and mailing functions, and oversees inventory management.  Handles a wide variety of paperwork and recordkeeping including work orders, purchase orders, material requisitions, and inventory logs.

 

Job Duties:

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective and timely completion of all shipping functions.

 

  • Ensures that product is boxed in accordance with Company packaging procedures.
  • Prioritizes shipping picklist and checks for inventory availability.
  • Ensures appropriate handling of outgoing product.
  • Shops for best shipping rates and schedules.
  • Processes returns.
  • Tracks inventory.
  • Identifies, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems, or delays.

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring that shipping functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

  • Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
  • Ensures that forklift is operated and maintained according to safety requirements.
  • Ensures that schedules and deadlines are followed.

 

Assumes responsibility for completing and maintaining all shipping related paperwork, files, and records accurately and timely.

 

  • Ensures the accurate completion of weekly shipping reports.
  • Maintains freight shipping files.
  • Maintains records of shippers’ cost schedules (i.e., UPS, Federal Express, etc.).
  • Ensures that inventory records are current.

 

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and with management.

 

  • Directs, assists, coordinates and supports temporary staff as needed.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and provides suggestions to improve work flow, cut costs and increase efficiencies.
  • Attends meetings and participates in planning discussions as needed.

  • Familiarity with UPS, Federal Express, and Federal mailing regulations.

  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Ability to manage time, plan work activities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift.
  • Ability to multitask and deal with frequent change.
