ASSEMBLER

Summary of Position:

Responsible for the assembly of parts for various Vornado products. Ensures that assigned assembly functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures, that quality standards are met or exceeded, and that related documentation is accurate and complete.  Operates hand tools as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of assembly procedures
  • Previous assembly experience
  • Ability to closely follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work and communicate in a team environment
  • Quality oriented
  • Well organized and attentive to detail
  • Physical strength requirements include being able to stand for 8 hours and exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares parts according to written instructions
  • Checks parts/products passing on the assembly line for quality, removes defective products from the line
  • Operates tools and machines as required
  • Tests equipment on the production line and reports problems appropriately
  • Packages products as needed
  • Assists and supports other Assemblers as needed
  • Follows established quality and safety standards
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secured, and well maintained

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Summary of Position:

Responsible to create on-trend graphic design solutions in print and digital media. To create compositions and images with high visual impact, quickly and with precision while visually telling the powerful, premium story of our brand and products. Become a key part of the company’s engagement with consumers via owner’s guides, printed materials, web and packaging.

 

Job Duties:

Responsible for creating graphic design solutions that will be used in print and digital media.

  • Work with Creative, Engineering and Product Marketing team members to create print and digital pieces for a wide array of products, including owner’s guides, packaging and labels.
  • Create graphics that will appear online.
  • Design printed collateral; Deliver press ready artwork and ensure final quality via press checks.
  • Support consumer-focused motion design projects such as video and animation.
  • Utilize In-Design, Illustrator and Photoshop to enhance product features and usage, then communicate clearly to consumers.
  • Interact on a continuous basis with stakeholders throughout the company whenever needed, and provide solutions based on their inputs.
  • Maintain awareness of industry/design trends, and implement as needed.
  • Listen to company questions and feedback, clearly report findings, and propose meaningful solutions to move forward with the brand’s best interest in mind.

Assumes responsibility for ensuring that print and digitial materials are designed, developed and distributed to meet the needs of the organization.

  • Works well in a team, with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, website designers and marketing specialists.
  • Steward the Consumer Experience side of our Creative team.
  • Assist in PR/Media related inquiries.
  • Contributes to larger-scale projects with creative concept and design input.
  • Manages multiple projects and maintains project deadlines.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of training, promotion, and advertising programs that further marketing objectives.
  • Ensures all graphics are printed or integrated into video or website media in a professional, quality-oriented manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in design, marketing, or advertising.
  • Understanding of sales and promotion techniques.
  • Experience with consumer-facing instruction materials and product functionality marketing.
  • Well-versed in pre-press setup procedures and on-press color and quality management.
  • Familiar with web publishing, HTML, CSS, search engine optimization (SEO) techniques preferred, not required.
  • Able to create a design solution for any audience, in any style, in any medium.
  • Strong illustration, image adjustment, color selection and typesetting abilities.
  • Can move with agility between print design, digital/web design and photo retouch.
  • Gracefully maintain multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Enjoys strong intellectual challenges, and can easily simplify complex things.
  • Possesses a solid set of verbal and written communication skills, and can effortlessly collaborate with other creative and technical people.
  • Knowledge of/participation in Social Media (preferred, not required)

SHIPPING COORDINATOR

Summary of Position:

Responsible for ensuring that products are shipped to customers in accordance with sales order requests and Company policies and procedures.  Prioritizes shipping picklists, coordinates boxing, packaging, and mailing functions, and oversees inventory management.  Handles a wide variety of paperwork and recordkeeping including work orders, purchase orders, material requisitions, and inventory logs.

 

Job Duties:

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective and timely completion of all shipping functions.

 

  • Ensures that product is boxed in accordance with Company packaging procedures.
  • Prioritizes shipping picklist and checks for inventory availability.
  • Ensures appropriate handling of outgoing product.
  • Shops for best shipping rates and schedules.
  • Processes returns.
  • Tracks inventory.
  • Identifies, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems, or delays.

 

Assumes responsibility for ensuring that shipping functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

  • Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
  • Ensures that forklift is operated and maintained according to safety requirements.
  • Ensures that schedules and deadlines are followed.

 

Assumes responsibility for completing and maintaining all shipping related paperwork, files, and records accurately and timely.

 

  • Ensures the accurate completion of weekly shipping reports.
  • Maintains freight shipping files.
  • Maintains records of shippers’ cost schedules (i.e., UPS, Federal Express, etc.).
  • Ensures that inventory records are current.

 

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and with management.

 

  • Directs, assists, coordinates and supports temporary staff as needed.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and provides suggestions to improve work flow, cut costs and increase efficiencies.
  • Attends meetings and participates in planning discussions as needed.

  • Ensures that boxes are prepared for product shipping.
  • Handles special international shipments as required.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.

  • Familiarity with UPS, Federal Express, and Federal mailing regulations.
  • Knowledge of product protection requirements and packing procedures.

  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Ability to manage time, plan work activities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift.
  • Ability to multitask and deal with frequent change.
